Coming In Third

There’s something about winning third-place in a race or other competition that feels better than coming in second-place. Bronze medal-winners are almost always happier than silver medal-winners. This service will explore this phenomenon as it relates to the concept of grace and how it plays out in our lives.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

The great Christian mystic famously said, “If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.” Of the various kinds of prayers, prayers of thanksgiving might be the most powerful. How do we practice giving thanks, even in challenging times?

Unity and Progressivism

Unitarian Universalists and other religious progressives tend not to conform to orthodox views and practices. How then can we expect to unite? This sermon will explore this question and others having to do with moving from a culture of identity to one of solidarity.
