Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills, fondly known as Sunnyhill. Unitarian Universalism is a religion of free thinkers who draw from many sources to ponder together the meaning of life and our place in it. We strive together to treat all people and the natural world with deep love and respect, even that which we do not understand. Here at Sunnyhill we have created a community of thinkers and seekers and people who want to share their spiritual journey with other progressive individuals. This is a congregation with a strong community spirit and lots of creative energy. Children are a very important part of our community. The Reverend Lynn M.Acquafondata accepted the call to serve as Sunnyhill’s minister in June 2003. Previously she served as interim minister in Topeka, Kansas and as new congregation organizing minister for Spirit of Life Church in St. Cloud, MN.

She graduated from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in 1999 with a Master of Divinity Degree. During her studies she interned at the White Bear UU Church in Minnesota and was ordained there in May 2000. She did hospital internships at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in St. Cloud, MN and at St. Cloud Hospital. She worked as part-time staff chaplain at St. Cloud Hospital for several years after her internship. She lives in Mt. Lebanon her two teenage sons and two dogs.

Rev. Acqaufondata performs weddings for all couples (opposite and same-sex).  A minimum of six weeks advance notice is required as she creates a ceremony that reflects the uniqueness of each couple as well as the universal nature of committed relationship/marriage.
