Annual Member & Friend Canvass

Each autumn the Canvass Committee conducts a canvass in which members and friends are asked to make a pledge of financial support to provide the funds necessary to operate the church for the coming year. The canvass raises about 80% of our needed income. Although the official Canvass is held during the months of October and November, new members and friends are encouraged to pledge their support throughout the year.

Giant Eagle Gift Cards

Buy Giant Eagle Gift Cards and help the church earn 5% of the face value of the cards. Use cards, purchased through the Church, to pay for whatever you buy at Giant Eagle (groceries, gas, film, sundries, pharmaceuticals, etc.). Cards are available in several denominations and have no expiration date. Order cards by the 1st Sunday of the month and get them on the 2nd Sunday at Church or by mail. You can also set up a monthly standing order. Credit cards are accepted with a small additional fee to cover our costs. More information and an order form.

The Sunnyhill Exchange

How is it done?  The Sunnyhill Exchange is a new way in which Sunnyhill members and friends can sell items to each other year-round, donating the proceeds to Sunnyhill.  Done primarily through an “internet group” and utilizing members’ email addresses, Exchange members can both post and receive “For Sale” and “Wanted” messages.  Buyers contact the sellers, the transaction is made, and a check is made out to UUCSH with “Sunnyhill Exchange” in the memo – it’s just that easy!

What’s in it for you?  Convenience mostly.  You get rid of unwanted items earlier and find something you don’t have to pay retail price for.  You can also make exchanges while at church.  There’s a level of trust between Exchange participants that can assure your confidence in the items.  And two people instead of just one get to help the church in one transaction!

How do you sign up?  Brochures will be available in the kiosk at the back of the church.  The Sunnyhill Exchange coordinator will automatically sign you up for the Exchange using your email address.

It's bold, it's bright, it's phantasmagorical!  It's "Lights! Cameras! Auction!" the 2007 Sunnyhill Service Auction!  Now take an unprecendented dip into the swirling maelstrom of goods and services from your fellow Sunnyhillers, as the spawn of Hollywood guides you through a whacking good time.  This is the stuff that dreams are made of.  Will you spend a lot of money?  Frankly, my dear, we don't give a damn.  This is big - it's the pictures that got small.  You'll believe an auction can fly!  Vote for Pedro for president!  Please turn off your cell phones, and popcorn is available at the concession stand!
